Dear Sir or Madam,

Wiktoria Czech from Żbikowic near Łososina Dolna in Poland doesn’t know yet what The Sun, smile or birds’ chirping are. She doesn’t know it because she is not born yet. All we know about her is that she is a girl and has got a serious heart disorder –hyppoplasia of the left heart - which was detected at the beginning of the 9th month of pregnancy.

It is yet possible to cure it and give Wiktoria a chance to live a normal life. Prof. Edward Malec, a highly qualified specialist, who has acquired a great experience in that kind of disorders, has kindly agreed to perform this operation. He currently works in the clinic of Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Due to her heart disorder, Wiktoria has to be given birth there, as well. She is approximately going to be born 5th of January.

We are willing to give her a chance to live. The operation performed on the open heart and the childbirth in Munich costs € 33.000 (132.000 zlotys). Naturally, it is a huge amount of money, but isn’t human life priceless?

Therefore we kindly ask you – please help us. We cannot afford such sum of money without your support, and the time is running incredibly fast. Wiktoria’s mother has to be in Munich towards the end of December.

So far we have saved Emilka, Bartek and Adaś. We strongly believe that it will be possible this time as well. Can we count on your support in Wiktoria’s future life? We all shall give her the opportunity to see the real world in her own eyes.

Wiktoria belongs to our programme of helping sick children called “Na Ratunek”. We got to know her family, checked the situation they are in and signed an appropriate agreement. Now we are collecting funds struggling with the time. There is a great chance for the success of the operation, and for the girl to be completely healthy.
 

We are Zofia and Dariusz Czech. We have been married for 5 years now. It is difficult to describe our joy when we were told we would become parents and eventually not only a married couple, but a real family! We both work as teachers. Working with children and young people takes plenty of our time, but in exchange we are given equally a lot of satisfaction and joy. We had been imagining our child doing her first steps, and uttering first words. We are not able to describe what we felt when we heard the diagnosis !!! Briefly speaking – the girl has only “a half of her heart”. Still it seems to us that the whole situation is a horrible nightmare we cannot awake from!

Our daughter’s defect requires performing the first operation immediately after being born otherwise there is no chance for her to survive.

Despite the great support from our family and friends – without large-hearted people’s help we will not be able to gather enough for the operation.

As parents, we are begging you to help our unborn daughter, Wiktoria.
